The Savior is born! Luke 2: 9-11

“And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them and they were greatly afraid. Then the angel said to them, ‘Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born of you this day, in the city of David, a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.’” NKJV

On Christmas, we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, born of the virgin Mary. As we prepare to gather together with family and friends this holiday season, I hope that all of you take some time to reflect on the goodness and mercies and blessings from God received throughout this year. Please take some time to remember the good things that you have experienced; the miracles that have taken place in your own life. I will be spending the morning with extended family while having a Christmas brunch. Dinner will be small– just me, my husband, our son, and my mom. We all decided to change up the traditional game plan for Christmas celebrations last year– after the passing of my mother-in-law. May she rest in peace.

Christ’s birth was a miracle. Remember: he was born to Mary, a virgin, who asks the angel Gabriel in Luke, chapter 1, “How can these things be, since I do not know a man?” Gabriel had informed her that she would bring forth a son, and shall call his name Jesus.”

If you are currently dealing with difficulties in life, please know that God will always be with you, and your blessing will come. Rejoice! Celebrate! Celebrate the miracle that is Christ’s birth, and receive the blessings that come with knowing the Savior of the world.

When all the gifts have been opened; and when the dinner is done; and you’re preparing to relax for the evening, find a quiet space and reflect, and tell God ‘thank you’. Take some time to reflect on His love for you, and the miracle of the Savior’s birth.

Jesus is the reason we celebrate!

Merry Christmas to you all!

God bless you.
