New year… new goals

Hello everyone!

I hope you are doing well in 2026. I live in the Midwest portion of the United States, so it is quite cold here! Spring will come, and I can’t wait!

At my church-home, the pastor called on all of us to fast for 10 days. We generally do this at the start of every new year. Fasting calls for obedience to what the Word says, and sacrificing our selfish desires for something greater. It is not easy but it can be done.

It’s currently day 7 of the fast, with 3 more days to go. Looking past our selfish desires requires a level of discipline that is pushed to the limits during a fast. But when we fast and pray, our spiritual eyes and ears are more receptive to what the Scriptures say.

When we seek God with our whole hearts, we get to know Him better. It is so very important to have the right relationship with the Lord. It starts with us asking His forgiveness for our sins. We must confess that Jesus is Lord, and that God the Father raised him from the dead, and we will be saved. (Romans 10:9)

Seek God in this new year. Focus on building a relationship with Him.

God bless.
